Aerospace Engineering
Engineering by definition is the science and art of developing solutions. No naturally occurring material has ever been as dynamic as carbon fiber. Common applications can be seen in nearly every field of engineering. Some common applications include increased rigidity of aircraft components, heat protection for spacecraft ballistic defense helping to save countless lives, and component shielding due to flexibility of formability.
“The lightening” is a term used in engineering to denote the science of reducing weight in order to increase performance. This concept was coined by the aerospace industry where weight is as important as power. This term is now following carbon technology into automobiles, safety equipment, and everyday consumer products. New fibers and new matrices continue to develop the potential for carbon fiber.
